Shop Talk

I feel like I’m really getting into the groove of what I want my art to be: playfully doodled art, colors that pop, & a variety of characters with backstories. Occasionally, maybe a scene or mini comic if the right idea comes about. The last four characters I’ve come up with are right in the pocket as far as the trajectory I want to follow -

I’m keying in on the go-to tools that makes this look like ‘my’ thing: A roughly textured pencil or a regular ballpoint pen are my favorites for the line work. For color, I like to use the basic paint brush or textured watercolor. There’s a few other things I like to use to make the process a bit easier on myself like the symmetry tool, ruler, & a steady stroke tool that I’ve been using mainly for coloring.

So, what’s next? Trying to grow the fan base to take the next step which will be physical products. I want to start making prints and stickers, maybe some other accessories like buttons/pins and then eventually work on t-shirts, tote bags, and sweatshirts. I’m trying to be my own boss before too long!
