I've been hard at work on storyboards for the short I'm working on. Lots of fun, lots of work. Recorded opening and closing themes; The opening is a tune I wrote and asked Yuki to join me to make it a Caramel Ship track and the ending was done with my friend Adam. For the sake of the collaboration, I made up the name Sitcom Dad. They were both fun to work on. Other than drawing a bunch and making short-related music, I contributed to a cover that some other friends are working on. Not sure if I can spill the beans on that so I'll keep it under wraps for now.
Melissa & I went to see the 2017 version of "It" last night. It wasn't perfect, but it was a good flick to kick off the Halloween season. Planning to get around to seeing "Annabell: Creation" sooner or later too. In the meantime I've got plenty of b-movies to catch so, I took in "Bubba The Redneck Werewolf" and "Cottage Country". Good schlock for a lazy afternoon.
With the weather getting cooler, it's time to change up the wardrobe. I got a lot of my usual stuff, but I grabbed a few sweatshirts from Omocat too. Wonder if Omori is ever going to be released? Anyway, I like buying clothes with designs from artist I like. I've had my eye on a few things from Punimelt & Natali Koromoto too.
I've been on a NeoGeo kick and got most of the shmups available on Switch. "Blue's Journey" was released while I had some time off and played through the whole thing in one sitting. That's something I love about old games. You can play through them easily (after pumping them full of credits) and finish them in an hour or less. I need that in these days of epic, work week+overtime length adventures. Non-digital/clothing related: I bought camping gear for a wedding/camping trip that's happening next month. Also, the battery in my laptop's stylus died out on me. Kinda put me a few days behind on my self imposed schedule. I ordered the weird AAAA batteries that I needed & got myself something fun too-- "TMNT Ultimate Visual History"
Fun with Switch.
As you can tell from the NeoGeo pick ups, I've been playing a bunch of games on Switch. Yes, I've been playing Sonic Mania. I was drawn into the hype & nostalgia. I played bits of the Genesis/Mega Drive games when I was a kid at friend's houses, but only dabbled with a few levels & liked messing with the debug mode. The only Sonic games that I've finished were Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 back on the Dreamcast. Have I told this story before? At any rate- I'm enjoying it, but I doubt I'll finish it any time soon. What I have been back into is ARMS. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon playing matches online. I'm ready for the update with Lola Pop and to spend more time with the game. I don't know exactly what made me go back, but I'm glad that I did because I'm having fun!
