Two episodes in and I'm invested. The use of color, tone, the cinematography, the fight choreography... magnificent! It's like they took everything that was loved about the original run & turned it up to 10. The depictions of some of the violence shows that they're well aware that they're on [adult swim] now. Other than how awesome the show looks visually, I also applaud how they're dealing with Jack's character. He's an immortal dealing with guilt, doubt, world weariness, & a touch of mental breakdown. Even Aku is showing signs of a bit of malaise. Can eternal evil feel ennui? I usually scoff at when things try to be dark and edgy, but I feel this is being handled with care. It's well done. Genndy Tartakovsky & his crew are sending the series off properly. After all that's happened in only two episodes, I don't want them to force themselves to continue with the series any further. I don't necessarily want to see it end, but at the same time I want to see what kind of conclusion the story comes to.
