W.I.P.

Planning to wrap up a storyboard of sorts before the end of this month. I think I’ve got the aesthetic I want to shoot for pretty nailed down. Silly, doodle style art with a pencil & watercolor quality. Very light hearted vignettes being told from the perspectives of the lead kids.  I’ve even got an idea for what I want to do if I get the opportunity to do this more than once. Imagine that!

Sonic Colors

I was reading a nice write-up that someone posted on Neogaf about “Sonic Adventure” & felt that sweet Dreamcast nostalgia triggered. Whenever I think of certain consoles, I can remember very specific places, times, and feelings I had while playing. SNES, Sega Saturn, PSX, & Dreamcast are the ones that take me back the strongest. That post also gave me the urge to finally check out one of the 3D Sonic games that people really like but I never got around to - “Sonic Colors” . I don’t know when I’m going to sit down and play it, but I snagged a copy off of eBay for $10 so at very least, I’ll have it in my collection for when I’m ready for it.

Big Bang Beat

Perhaps I’ve touched on this before, but for a minute in the early 2000s I got into doujinshi games. Mostly played a lot of shooters & got heavy into Kenta Cho’s games. Something else that stood out to me was “Big Bang Beat”. Tons of shooters and fighting games were released, but this one clicked with me. There was even a sequel that I didn’t find out about until somewhat recently -

Fall 2017 Anime Season

Not a whole lot that I want to see & one that I do isn’t on the services I currently subscribe to. Here’s what I am interested in though —

Inuyashiki

Children of Whales

Kino’s Journey -the beautiful world-

Juneteenth

Man, that last episode of Black-ish. So good!

Pacific Rim Uprising

Yes! I’ll be in the theatre day one for this!

Brave Storm

will gladly accept this double offering of giant robots & alien creatures.

End of an Era: AIM is Shutting Down This Year

I’ve got many middle school & beyond memories of using AIM. At some point I remember using Trillian so that I could use AIM, Yahoo! Chat, & other clients all at once. I also remember wishing I could keep chatting with my online friends even while I was out... Man, things’ve really changed.

Welcome To My Daydream

Officially on my radar. Had no idea that this was the studio that worked on “The PJs”.

Family Superhero Comic Raising Dion Now a Netflix Series Thanks to Michael B. Jordan

Niiiice! I watched the video of this on YouTube a while ago. It’s pretty cool that it’s becoming a series. I’ve still gotta watch “Keloid”. A friend recommended it a few months ago & I haven’t gotten a chance to dive into it.

Pop Culture Analysis

I’ve posted some video essays on anime before & I’m happy to report that I come across more videos that do deep dives into different subject matter. I love this stuff.

Dounia

Pretty cool jam. Got wind of this from another video I was watching. Not mad that I clicked on this.

Caleb & Kelly

My bro, Caleb married his lady, Kelly on Saturday. Happy for them! Got to use the last of my 35mm film, shot on Instax for the first time since last year’s Japan trip, & of course got some shots with my handy iPhone.

PS: Thanks again Steven for the help with the tent. Too bad the wind took it so, we didn’t end up camping out + the weather was starting to get rough so, maybe that was for the best.  PPS: Since all of the 35mm film I had in my possession is gone, I’ve officially retired a few of my cameras. On the slim black devil, the plastic has gotten weird & kinda sticky. And, the (Vivitar) Kodak KV250 is just retired.  Not saying that I won’t shoot on 35mm ever again, but whenever I do - I’ve got other cameras that I’ll be using. For now, I’ve got a lot of Instax film to shoot on.
