Inspiration Log vol. 02

Something that I couldn’t quite fit in were the crops of short-form anime that’ve come out over the years. Shows like “Ai Mai Mi”, “Chi’s Sweet Home”, “Bono Bono”, etc. There may have been a few other slice of life shows here & there too. Worth mentioning is the color use of a lot of these shows. Part of it is because of age, but also by design. What I’m getting at is the more muted tones. I don’t really like the bright digital look. I enjoy bright yet calmer colors or straight up watercolor, pencil, and a bit of marker. And although I stuck with cartoons - there’s tons of children’s books or children's programs I watched while growing up that I could reference. All of these things are what I’m carrying with me as I work on my own projects.
